Hmms...seem to realise that I've been constantly asked the "big" question these few weeks..
Haiz..the answer's "No".
*sMILEz* used to wonder why you peeps (even my parents) thought so..
Independent look? Hmm..nope.
So I pondered..and pondered..
And hit upon the answer.
Stupid me should have known it all along.
How could I not have known?
It's because of You *bEAMs*
Haha..and i admit, I'm mighty pleased it shows :)
*gRINz* thinking of You, and how You've worked in this measly life..and how awesome You are..or just Your Hand working all around me..being by my side in my waking and sleeping hour.
No wonder it shows :)
And no wonder I'm never letting You go.
My Shepherd, my Father, my God.
I could never hope for a greater and worthier Master and Friend.

*wEEps* Did something that made me "so amazed" at my "intelligence" on MSN one day..
Thank goodness for the ding dongness of my student who didn't realise the error of my ways..
Anyhows..here's what happened.

Student (S) : Hello Miss Lim!
Me (M): Heya! *gRINz*
-I disappear from the chat after a while to talk to other peeps-
S: Miss Lim..
M: Yesh?
S: Do you like dogs or cats?
M: Both!
-thinks for a while-
M:But i prefer dungs.

(!!-_-) Oh hail smarty pants me..
I meant to say "dogs".
Almost fell off chair in fits when I read my ding dongness..
Anyhows! Here's your entertainment for today :)

Chronicles of Blanche..3 EA (Easily amazed, easily amused, and...easily abused)

Not very amusing day so far though...

Woke up early..
Dang! I have driving at...8 today!!! *wEEPs*
Chiongs into the washroom before jie does...
Sits down at table in bedroom slippers swiped from merchant marco hotel (muahahha *evil*)..starts playing corrine may's ole cd..
"Blanche, remember to close the windows before you leave.."
"Oh! Is it going to rain?"
Pours instantaneously. (!!-_-)

Glances at clock..realises I have only 3 minutes to rush to the station.
Stuffs all things into bag..runs out of house, struggling to open the brolly at the same time.
Weaves between tai chi addicts in the void deck as my weapon of defense spreads open.
Runs even faster amidst stealing little looks at the watch on my hand.
All dignity is lost..Speculates headlines in new paper tomorrow-"Mad woman spotted going berserk along the streets of quiet bukit batok....laughing out loud at a madagascar trailer"
Chiongs past nemesis..(heh, actually my very nice violin teacher of 4 years who has yet to teach me the art of vibrato)..feels a little cheated at having to adapt it from smart lil' Chris who has mastered it on his guitar.
Speeds into the bukit batok mrt station, ignoring the spray of rainwater behind me as speedy blanche zooms past.

Makes it safely onto the mrt..
Takes only 3 min to reach bukit gombak. Here we go again..
Runs to catch the shuttle bus..
Reaches BBDC in time
Proudly queues up to zap the blue book (and henceforth taking my reporting slip for lesson)

Hmm...blue book is not being zapped properly..
Types in NRIC.
Shocking revelation after braving the storm.
"You have not booked a lesson"
Gapes. Siddles away to the computer. Quickly types in computer to check details.
Feels a choking sensation...
Lesson's tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
*wEEPs* Feels that thunderstorm outside suits the misery of my situation..
Walks to canteen to wait for Popular to open at 11.
Tries to figure out why houseflies seem to treat my head as non existent as yet another flies into my forehead and renders itself unconscious.
Smses friends about predicament to find oneself a source of entertainment. Ah well..
Looks at watch..realises it's 10:35. Happiness. Time to scuttle up the shuttle bus.

Takes mrt to Jurong East.
Strides down escalator to the humongous Popular branch.
Goes to cashier, picks up a 20 % discount voucher.
Typical Kiasu Singaporean instinct kicks in..Expects a huge bounty today and hence picks up a shopping basket..
Lingers around the notebook section and shamelessly pops sketchbooks, shorthand books, black books etc into basket..
Meets a lady supplier placing her wares in shelves..
"Hello miss.." I stop in my tracks and look around..Eh..that must be me..
"Hello." I smile a bit self consciously..
She stops packing, turns and smiles at me. "You keep smiling away."she comments.
I freeze.

Somewhere in the back of my memory, about a year ago at the queensway shopping centre, macs, a certain endearing old lady cashier literally blared the same sentence..ending with .. "Such a nice girl!! Are you from pei chun primary?" I was wearing my RJ uniform. (!!-_-) Had to sneak away after that, feeling all eyes on me during the peak lunch period.
Same feeling here..but well, the conversation here was quite amusing, i have to say..

So then I move on..eye a few pieces of paper to make bookmarks with.
Walks down the staircase..spends 20 minutes trying to decide between getting a large kukumalu whiteboard (with a very cute kukumalu duster) or the small one. Undecided. Finally resigns oneself to the fact that I have a huge whiteboard at home..picks up the teensy weensy kukumalu whiteboard that has no kukumalu duster. Comforts oneself in the fact that it's still very adorable (as kukumlaus are)anyway. And contains a kukumalu marker holder.

Walks around, trying to recall if I've missed out anything. Looks through the glow in the dark sets and is disappointed to find that there aren't any that contain glow in the dark stars.

Walks again. Spots a madagascar merchandise area from the corner of the right eye. Makes a beeline for it. Tempted. Sees Madagascar post it notes and madagascar utensils. Nah..
Aimlessly looks around.
Eyes light up..

Is that...is that...
My precious..
Goes crazy instantaneously!!! Spots an alarm clock (the kind garfield always hammers into smithereens) which has the funny-bone-tickling penguins decorated all over it.
Spends another 20 minutes gazing at it adoringly..
Decides not to spendthe 17 bucks and dejectedly walks away from the madagascar corner before my hands pay no attention to my brain signals.
Pays for everything. Places basket on counter in embarassment (Didn't even fill it to one-fifth the height). Boards mrt train again..enters carriage brimming with good looking youths..
Leaves station. Pass through westmall and takes the escalator to the basement.
Rahahahah! *gRINz* Apple platter, full of dark chocolate and oreo goodness, here i come!!!

Munches contentedly..realising loads of stares shot in my direction.
Finds an unbelievably huge grin pasted on my face in a reflection as i walk through the doors.
Checks myself. But then..heck cares...This place needs a bit of happiness anyways..

Walks towards home..sees a group of 3 "larger and taller than myself" boys walking towards me..
Looks away..Looks back.
Looks away..Looks back.
They...they look like...Faris and gang from 6J!!!!
Recalls with horror how the entire group shouted "Miss Lim" one block away a few weeks ago.
Terrified me sweeps into action, with mouth stuffed with oreo, dark chocolate and apple goodness.
Looks around desperately and spots an exit between karang guni man's house and his barang barang.
Makes a huge detour.
Reaches home safely.
What a close shave.

*gRINz* after listening to the piano version of guang liang's tong hua in shanghai...couldn't take it anymore and bought the cd yesterday..

Amazing..how the same series of chords can produce a variety of tunes :) each one as melodious as the next *sMILEz*

Haha then again, i could simply be itching to touch the piano after a ten day "starvation" :)

Score searching...here i come!!!

People need the Lord

Everyday they pass me by,
I can see it in their eye.
Empty people filled with care,
Headed who knows where?
On they go through private pain,
Living fear to fear.
Laughter hides their silent cries,
Only Jesus hears.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize -- people need the Lord?

We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right.
What would be too great a cost
For sharing life with one who's lost?
Through His love our hearts can feel
All the grief they bear.
They must hear the words of life
Only we can share.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize that we must give our lives,
For people need the Lord.
People need the Lord.

I need Your courage..

Heya!! :) *sMILEz* am back from china!!!!

*gRINz* missed everyone loads!! yupyup!! but it's great that 'tis the season for june hols! :)

Hm...how was the trip?

Reflected about it the entire day..yeah, i guess i did have fun in a way..despite the mishaps, some of which were my fault...

But in another point of view...

I know i fell short of Your expectation of me throughout this trip...and how stupid i must have been..what a better place to be than in the heart of all things..yet i must have disappointed You: my behaviour, where discipline seemed to have been thrown out, mercy, giving...sufficient intercession...areas that I should have stepped back...and let Your prompting take over..

And in all..the atmosphere (not the company)..appeared subdued..which was probably why i might have been more tense and high strung than usual..

Just as i remember the wonderful scenery..the striking scenes etched in my memory would be..i guess, sufficiently ample in Your message to me:

1) A 4-6 year old girl with her mother each carrying a cup and coming up to us to ask for money..and the latter ignored the fact that her daughter was in a precarious position: in the middle of a busy lane, only concerned that we give what they wanted...

2) learnt the meaning of "squatters" from dickson...the kind who spend their lives aimless...hordes of homeless peeps gathered outside train stations boarding train after train, with no purpose in life except to live out their days..then again...

3)was out for dinner-supper with everyone at 11 pm..saw the extent of corruption of the police there...and witnessed how a young lady may have placed herself in a disadvantageous position...

4)lake taiho..i guess, my letting You take control was not enough...

5)a syndicate of pickpockets who were about to gang up on this jap/chinese/i don't know what he was...

6)cons...cheats...

I guess i shouldn't have been furious...petty...or dissatisfied in a way..cause I'm no one to judge..and i thank You for that gift of perspective during the trip...even though it brought out the worst in me..

Sadness...in a land where life seems almost cheapened...and each one is out to get the most for his or her money..

And i feel helpless...such that there in it I know i can only trust in Your greatness..

And there are more..to which I guess is simply between You and me..

But these 10 days, these 10 days...

Was an unforgettable lesson for me Father.

And I will cherish it.

And wait.
