ah yesh! updates!!! *gRINz* met queen yesterday for lunch at tanjong pagar! haha finally returned midarling the batch video and the autograph book...u're really sweet midarling, esp when i accidentally wet your book and u called those smudges artistic! *wEEps*...haha anywaes, had the famous peanut butter ice kachang *yummy* and was being entertained by this old lady who came all the way from paya lebar! haha only problem: queen and i didn't get to talk much as a result...the lady went on about her descendants, america...aha! in english! haha imagine the relief on our faces...(general misconception: all old folks speak dialect/chinese...just not english) when we both saw her at different times, first response was in chinese and then she replied in english...hahahaha... oh yesh...and she called her husband ("old man") stupid. hmm. anyhow, went all the way back to je in the inhumane heat to get adrienne's present! haha...and then hid out in the library (which was brilliantly built~!!!)until 4...then dragged meself away to school... where i got my progress report.. well..nothing much to say..not that i really expected much..just that "consistent, mature and well balanced individual" aren't really what i would have described myself. Nor anyone else who knows me would. Ha! (translate: mature=quiet; wall-balanced=i don't know her well enough, hence, safest term) hahahaha...well...thinking about how my brother asked me once, how many times have people called me weird... me: "actually, many times.." him: not surprising me: especially 'crazy' him: accurate! (responses designed from the looks he had on his face) heh...well, it just happens that in a foreign environment peeps are quieter...and it helps to give a good impression u know... but ah well, just that during orientation or events that need cheering..or exciting things....i go a little beserk... not very out of the ordinary... yesh! so after planning to pon the graduation ceremony for half an hour...we go. For the graduation ceremony (where happy things happened *secret*) haha! and the band was behind me where i had a full view of the flutes!!!! haha and linda thot i meant "food"...hmm... yesh...so the j1 chorale was really sweet too...dedicated a song to us (to which i was quite amused...and so was stewed!) haha..and hence the looong presentation of awards..and speeches, and feasting (actually only one) yupi burger...crazing over "the cool guy" (ahhh!!!!! wonderful movie! brilliant OST!!!!) and cracking our heads over mr teo's card (which is still undone, i reckon)... then we had a speech by john...that guy's a brilliant speaker! really diplomatic..and well, impressive. The entire hall was kept attentive as he spoke and carried us on peals of laughter through his highly amusing anecdotes..ahz... then we watched the batch video and school farewell video..where i did start feeling a bit nostalgic...especially when they presented a mosaic picture (when viewed far away, actually shows the netball court, canteen and spex gall!) containg everyone's pic to mr hodge..and then singing "if we hold on together" with the usual "hands-around-each-other-and-swaying"...where the atmosphere was to be spoilt by our apparent lack of synchronizing to the rhythm of the song.. haha then we adjourned to the netball court, decroated with "survivor" style torches (beautiful!!! kennef u'll love it!) that relights itself after being blown out!!! took a batch photo, where i guess everyone'll be only vaguely visible given the size of our batch squashed together and the darkness... had "sponsored kfc" for dinner with FRIENDS screening on the walls...colonel burger and hordes of potato wedges...with "National day parade 2004" bottled water.. then ping ying, steph and i went for our romantic walk in the darkness around the track failing to scare each other... and went back to where our class was... where the guys apparently had a water fight.. took photos! saw ben loh (almost extinct my fren!) and ms grace lim... adjounred to the spex gall for our bedtime finale, where everyone was given a sparkler each (as expected...the guys in my class lit theirs first..centre of attraction whilst everyone else looked on in the darkness) and our j1s used light sticks to form the word "raffles" on the field!!! beautiful!!! and the band struck up our school song...where everyone (actually, not everyone, our class guys) sang with gusto, and halfway through, the sparklers were lit...and everyone started to throw their lit sparklers out onto the field where there were STILL people...(detached amusement...) and we all koped the lightsticks(took one of every colour!) ..hahah..some looking as though they were gonna open a lightstick shop...feigning innocence as they stuck them into their pockets..(recall: rj guys trousers=white, therefore the lightsticks were gleaming through the material...how secretive...) trying to look as if i didn't see mr chin home sweet home in all exhaustion! haha that's about it...
Weaknesses (avoid unless absolutely bored) Ack...one thing i've learnt: never tell anyone your weaknesses... Experiment: told a friend about my ticklish side (i.e. the pokey thingy) One second later an unknown finger crept to my side and created the offensive affair. (!!-_-) Which sorta defeated the entire purpose yeah? haha especially since it was meant to inform and guard against future events of occurence... (note: don't ever try it. armour of cacti surrounds the waist 24 hrs x7) Aha! But anywaes...here's a list of things (self reflecting) that make up my "weak spots"...lurvely things, really... 1)Chocolates!!!!! (esp dark chocs! and roxy chocs!!!) 2)Ice cream!!!! 3)Papaya milk!!!(ha! it takes skille to appreciate ze clazzy drink..aids ze conzdepazion) 4)Mos milk tea!!! 5)New zealand natural products (at paragon!!! fwa!!) 6)thai express noodles (can't rmber the name...too complicated..., the only dish there which has a 3 chilli rating...*salivates*) 7)lemongrasssss food...at heeren 8)korean food at causeway pt and marina mandarin 1)Rainy weather!!! 2)crunchy and crispy leaves for stomping! (except when u get to burnnnn them...*evil*) 3)winter and autumn! (not very probable in saunified singapore tho) 4)good moosic!!!(esp "shu qing"...christian and chinese and korean fwaaaaaa) 5)teevee (bad. don't learn this) 6)animals!!! 7)outdoorsss!!! 8)fwens.. 9)books... and on... ah yes, and my "don't ever cross my path spots" 1) being absolutely snotty and inhumane (which includes terrorists) to any living creature 2) blaspheming Him 3) Satan (FYI, we're eternal ENEMIES) 4...infinity) *censored* any weaknesses to add? hmm...
"Nunnery" wars Absolutely brilliant...announced to my sis that i wanted to become a nun... And not just any nun...but the kind who zips around on her motorbike (kind of hip you know) dressed in her nunnery garb... So she stoned for a while. And said, "Well, there aren't any Christian nuns around..only the Buddhist and Catholic kinds." The end of my "Nunny Dream"...Cos basically 1) I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me..I mean, it's like drinking a can of coke. Why did you buy it in the first place? Because you wanna drink it (well most of the time), not buy it for the can itself which defeats the entire purpose.. Yesh! So that's how i view it...indeed, I do know mother Mary had her virtues..she may have been an exemplary mother and woman... But we are missing the point...the point of which who was the one who saved you and me..and hence has the ability to intercede for us? If i'm about to start praising mother Mary..i would have to add everyone on the ancestral list...King David..etc...which ultimately runs to adam and eve...and still, God... Haiz...my rambling may not make sense...but yesh.. 2) I believe in Him as the only way, "the Truth " and "the Life"..yes, it's really hard to believe that in the Trinity, our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are as one..but that's just it :) And by saying that i do believe in His omnipotency...omnipresence...and omniscience, which implies that it is not a must (even though it is strongly encouraged) to go to church to really have a relationship with Him..(which i assure u has happened so many times...as in, experiencing Him everywhere and anywhere..) as compared to believing that we can only meet any of the thousands of 'gods' in a temple..and conversing through fortune telling.. furthermore, rather than having the act of "the amount of inscense i place and times i go determines how i am blessed"..belief in the fact that the amount of good one does is directly proportional to his or her blessings...i can only say that through faith and grace we are saved...and it is because of His love and grace which we have received...that we desire to do it for His honour and glory..not the act of doing something for the sake of doing it.. haha and yes, i hate the smell of incensce... makes sense? ah well.. how do u spell incence? ack! hermit anyone? haha in the mountains and seashores of timbucktoo or malibu..
Thought back about the past two years...the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the pain and the loss, disappointments.. Somehow it's so easy to turn back, to indulge in self pity.. It gets so easy to think- I can do it all by myself. And to find that my strength alone Is insufficient.. It's so easy to despair and break down.. The enormity and brevity of the situation Tearing me apart.. It's so easy to feel crap.. Yet I run To You.. Your voice calls me to be still In Your presence.. You take my hand, Leading me across the thorns and white hot coals Strewn across my path.. Soothing my sore-filled feet You wipe away my tears And hold me in Your embrace As i place the broken pieces of my hopes and dreams Into the healing warmth of Your sanctuary.. Who is to say You aren't real? No lying nor defying spirit No human or angel apart Stands in Your presence. Yea, We kneel, worship, and praise Your Name! The heavens and the earth all in worship The birds and trees The waves and the breeze Seek to perform a melody.. So as to present what is only a tiny fraction Of Your Majesty An all encompassing Beauty.. Unrivalled and impossible to veil.. Lord, who is yet to turn away from You? Despite revelling in Your presence After experiencing the Peace and Joy of the Lord? A minute would have been ample time to change my life To redeem me But You, Oh hallowed one, Took thousands of years, Sacrificed Your only Son Subjected Him to the cross for my inequities And even now Spanning hours...days...years.. To enfold me in Your love.. Calling me Your beloved Such effort and pains to save this child of Yours.. However unworthy I am. Indeed, how can i deserve You,? You whom all the heavens and earth declare On bended knee.. "Lord on Most High!!! Emmanuel!! The Alpha and Omega!!!.." Words and volumes Unable to even begin to speak justice Of my Heavenly Father.. hahaha it's our last official day of school... having a really nostalgic feel...especially since it's the LAST TIME we'll ever call this place the rj compound...*sMILez* haha..am in the comp lab now with mr koo serenading our class...hahahaha!!!!!
